Advent Events - November 30th and December 1st

Advent is the time each year when we prepare for the coming of the Christ Child. The Worship committee has two events that we would like to have you join us for.

On Saturday, November 30, we will be putting up the Christmas tree in the Sanctuary and decorating it and the rest of the Sanctuary. We will plan on starting at 10 AM.

The second event is Our Annual Advent program which will be held on December 1, 2019 – The First Sunday of Advent.

  • We will have a pot luck brunch following the 9 AM service and the sign-up sheet will be posted in the back of the church November 4th.

  • Since the second service will be cancelled that day, communion will be incorporated in to the brunch time – much like we have done with Agape services in the past.

  • Brunch will be followed by a family craft activity.

  • If you usually attend the 11 AM service we hope you will come for brunch around 10 AM then partake of communion and socializing with us. If you have questions please feel free to contact me. (phone: 518-887-5767, lindascheuer@ptcconnect.net.)

We hope you will be able to join us for one or both of these events.

Pizza and Prayer Group

Meets third Wednesday of each month except August at 6:30 for Pizza and Prayers. You are most welcome to join us or leave a prayer concern with the pastor Susan Strang at 518-346-1900.

The Quilting group is making baby blankets for the Linus Project or Albany Medical Hospital

You can also come to if you like to knit, crochet, or quilt.   Come prepared to have fun, learn and help. We meet every Thursday evening at 6:30PM. Or talk to Susan or Cathy.

We are looking to start a Prayer Chain Group for those in our lives, in and out of church.

It is an ecumenical effort at praying with and for “neighbors” of all kinds and in all places. If you have questions, contact our minister, Susan Strang.  Watch these pages and/or come to service to see if this is something you would like to do.  We will be developing what this will look like in the coming weeks.  Some ideas presented were; praying over the over the phone with someone that has requested personal contact, getting together with another member(s) and praying in a small group,  or receiving alerts to pray for a person(s) for a specific need. The more prayers the better so the more people praying is wonderful.  If you have any suggestions / comments we would love to hear them.
